Helping to plant the First Rate Forest

Most of us want to help the environment, but in a cost of living crisis it can feel hard to know what to do.
By joining First Rate Credit Union, you can build your own financial resilience and support tree planting at the same time.

When you become a member of First Rate Credit Union, you join a not for profit financial co operative for BAE Systems employees in the UK. Your savings stay yours and help fund fair, affordable lending to colleagues.

For every new member who joins, we will fund the planting of at least one tree through JUST ONE Tree. Over time, our members will create a “First Rate Forest” that reflects how many people we have helped to start saving.

How it works:
• You join First Rate Credit Union and open a savings account or apply for a loan, subject to our usual checks and terms.
• For each new member, we donate to JUST ONE Tree. Their model is that around £1 funds at least one tree being planted.
• JUST ONE Tree arranges tree planting through reforestation partners in countries affected by deforestation and poverty.
• Our First Rate Forest grows one member and one tree at a time.

About JUST ONE Tree:
JUST ONE Tree is a UK based Community Interest Company that supports global reforestation projects on land and in the oceans. It works with vetted partners who employ and train local people to plant and care for native trees. This helps restore ecosystems and supports local communities.
